The "Q"!- We loaded up and headed South...toward the border that is!
Pat and Angel Murphy vetured down to San Diego with us for the big Tailgate at the Q! We loaded, and when I say loaded, I mean we LOADED the truck until it was overflowing with tailgate gear. We trucked down the highway toward Sunny San Diego after a long night of prep and packing. We heard that Dognut Dan was going to be tailgating in lot G3, so we were ready to get our gate on with Dan.
When we arrived, we met up with Dan and set-up a great tailgate area. Pat went to work fixing breakfast and getting the Big Grin Beans ready. Angel and Karen went to work on the set-up, and until we got the EZ-UPS placed, it got a little warm. OK - Hot in that direct sun. Thankfully we brought plenty of cold drinks and ice - and even a straw hat that Angel so gracefully models for us!
The drive from Orange county took us about an hour and a half, and along the way we saw plenty of car graphics, flags and license plates. Horns blowing, music blasting and grills hot, the party was definitely in the lot.
Everyone has their own rituals and their own way to get ready for the big game - and even the tailgate party.
After a great day, great food, great friends and a great gate, we all had a cold one and relaxed for a bit before the end of a wonderful day. |
